At its core, this event focuses on sharing perspectives and fostering a deeper understanding of power structures and the need for systemic change within the creative communitie(s) in Flanders. By embracing concepts like repair, upcycling, and non-fashion initiatives, we can create a fashioning culture that is more sustainable, inclusive, and respectful. This event aims to build a conscious community that values the diverse backgrounds of all its members. We recognize that not everyone is considered “local” in traditional terms, but we believe in creating spaces where everyone feels they belong. Through this collective effort, we seek to challenge the status quo, move beyond superficial trends, and foster critical thinking. “Not in Vogue” is more than just a fashion event; it’s a movement towards a more ethical and community-centered future.”
